Consecrate Your Purpose (1)
57 On the road someone asked if he could go along. “I’ll go with you, wherever,” he said.
58 Jesus was curt: “Are you ready to rough it? We’re not staying in the best inns, you know.”
Jesus said to another, “Follow me.”
59 He said, “Certainly, but first excuse me for a couple of days, please. I have to make arrangements for my father’s funeral.”
60 Jesus refused. “First things first. Your business is life, not death. And life is urgent: Announce God’s kingdom!”
61 Then another said, “I’m ready to follow you, Master, but first excuse me while I get things straightened out at home.”
62 Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.”
– Luke 9:57-62

Purpose Lessons
First things first, attend to issues that translate to life, kingdom, momentum, and progress, and stop romancing matters that are dead. That which is dead is passed, that which is past is gone. Focus on that which is hopeful.
When you are in pursuit of purpose, your priority has to be different. You have to leave the comfort, easy, and self-indulgence zone. Whatever you do must proclaim the will and sovereignty of God.
Every purposeful child must set himself/herself apart. Sanctification is by the Holy Spirit through the word of God. Allow the scripture to sanctify you.
When purpose is not sanctified or consecrated, it becomes a lost destiny. Make sure your purpose is retrained and anchored on God’s truth. Don’t do a Samson.
When God is moving your purpose, you must not allow sentiments, affinities, or emotions to interfere. When you are going into purpose, you will have to sacrifice everything and make hard choices.
When the purpose is known, you must be ready to pay the ultimate price to get it done, there is no time to waste.
Deliberately set aside a time of prayer and communion with God every day, especially in the fourth watch (between 3 am and 6 am). God wants to meet with you before the hustle and bustle of the day.
Purpose is about sacrifice, it is not about self or self-preference but consecration, and commitment.
You consecrate by saying No to self, Not to personal aggrandizement, No to people’s approval, No to overthinking, and No to the world.
