Sing And Give Praise
“My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early!”
– Psalm 57:7-8

A few years ago as young believers, one of the most famous choruses sung at many meetings was from Psalm 57:5…
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.
It was such a powerful and popular song that almost no meeting was complete without its rendition. Yet this verse is embedded in a Chapter of the Psalms where the writer comments on the constant plots and attacks of the enemies.
The Writer says in Vs 4 of the same Psalm 57 that he was in the “midst of lions”, literally ambushed by people “whose teeth are spears and arrows, and (whose) tongues are sharp swords”. Yet in the midst of this scary situation, he decided to sing forth God’s praise and extol Him.
How easy is it to be thankful in the midst of enemy attacks and storms of life? However, the choice to remain thankful rests not with the situation but with you.
Thankfulness is proof of your trust and faith in God’s power.
See how he puts it in Psalms 57:7-8: “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early!”
In scripture, when things are repeated it shows importance and conviction. Notice how he repeats the word FIXED! Can you sense his determination in spite of the situation?
David chose to praise God and was determined to rise up early and use his instruments in praise and worship whether the enemy likes it or not.
Are you determined like this too?
The challenges of life should not rob you of your Ministry of Praise and Worship to the Lord.
Do not restrict your praise worship to only services, public fellowships, parties, or ceremonies.
Revive your altar of praise today!
Sing, Dance, and Give Praise
Despise the shame. Mock the mocker.
Get up early and worship God, even though you can’t seem to find any reason to.
Put on the music player or play the beats in your head, anyways sing, dance, and make music in your closet and everywhere you go.
Exalt your Father and see Him rise in His glory and power.
LET US PRAY:
I worship and praise the Lord with the whole of my heart, might, and strength. I give thanks to God at all times and in all things.
Songs of praise will always rise from my lips. My heart is fixed on gratitude, I’m forever grateful to the Omnipotent God.
In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.
