I Surrender All

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

The Gospel is free but though it may not have cost us anything it does demand everything.

It demands that we go “all in,” putting all that we have into God’s hands. And that’s where we get stuck—in spiritual ‘no man’s land’.

We’re afraid that if we go all in that we might miss out on what this life has to offer. It’s not true. The only thing you’ll miss out on is everything God has to offer.

With the volatility, uncertainty, complexities, and ambiguities in the world, this is not a time to joke with faith in Christ.

No matter your family background, political affiliations, marital condition, or economic status, it is pertinent to live with the end in mind. You ought to be eternity driven. Remember that at the end of it all, life is either black or white, in or out, yes or no, saved or lost.

The message is simple: if Jesus is not Lord of all then Jesus is not Lord at all.  It’s all or nothing. It’s now or never.

Kneeling at the foot of the cross of Christ and surrendering to His Lordship is a radical act of dethroning self and enthroning Christ as King. It’s also an act of disowning yourself. Nothing belongs to you anymore. Not even you.

The good news is this: if you hold onto God, God will hold you close.

Are you fully surrendered to God with your whole life including your time, talent, and money?

A life that is fully surrendered is a life that shines the light for all to see the glory of God.

All to Jesus I surrender, All to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live

All to Jesus I surrender, Humbly at His feet I bow
Worldly pleasures all forsaken, Take me, Jesus, take me now,

I surrender all, I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior, I surrender all

Dear Holy Spirit of God, I’m all yours. Help me to live worthy of the Lord fully pleasing Him
