“Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? – John 8:46
Thursday, July 20, 2023
Only Jesus can save! This is because ONLY Jesus’ life and blood remain untainted by Sin, ONLY He lived without failing and with no error, therefore He qualifies as the sacrificial lamb. Listen to Him, what sets Him apart is His sinlessness.
This was the requirement of the Law, that the sacrifice is without blemish. Lev 1:3 says that the sinner shall “offer the male sacrifice without blemish (or fault)”.
The duty therefore of the High Priest was to examine the animal brought by him. If it is without flaw, then the person also would be accepted. The focus was always on the quality and authenticity of the atoning sacrifice. This is why it was important for Jesus to ask this question in the book of John as a public affirmation of his guiltlessness.
It is important that we also recognize that Jesus is our perfect sacrifice, for only in accepting this truth, can we truly be confident that we have received “redemption through His perfect blood..” (Eph 1:7).
Take note that His sacrifice was so precise, authentic, and powerful it was a “one-off” event, for, “…after He had offered ONE SACRIFICE FOR SIN FOREVER, He sits down at the right hand of God, waiting…”.
If you discount Jesus’ sacrifice as NOT being enough and sufficient, you will continue to struggle to prove yourself worthy to God! This is what many people are going through today, on one hand struggling with themselves, scared of God, terrified of death, trembling at the thought of the second coming of Christ, etc. rather than trusting Jesus with their life.
On the other hand, some are living in denial, looking for every means to prove a fact of history wrong or simply looking to other means like religion, education, or tradition to satisfy their soul.
While some are simply arrogant, believing like the Pharisees that on their own morality or heritage, they are righteous because they do not commit “big sins” and can live as good as Jesus did.
Beloved the truth, and a humbling truth at that, is that our salvation is predicated on Christ’s acceptance by God. If God did not accept His sacrifice, we would all be doomed, no matter how we lived!
God is Spirit, and they that worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, no one can come to Father except through Him.
To live as a child of God with the hope of eternity, you must believe those two statements in your heart and life. You must be conscious of the Spirit realm that controls all things visible and invisible. You must also accept the truth of Jesus’ death and resurrection as the only certified atonement for sin and reconciliation with God.
This is why we surrender our life and essence to Him, for it is not in us to be saved, but it was all of Him, His life, and His Perfect Blood!
LET US PRAY:
O Lord! I thank you for Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Thank you for the once and for all sacrifice for sin. What a wonderful day, the day my savior went to the cross.
I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for my redemption. He lived sinless and He is the perfect sacrifice. I believe that He rose again on the third day and is now seated with God the Father. I believe He is coming back again.
I accept Him as my Lord and saviour and I yield my life and essence to Him today and always.
Thank you, dearest Jesus Christ, for saving me. I’m forever grateful for the cross. Amen!
