35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness.
36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Today, the majority of Christians, even the evangelicals and Pentecostals don’t really understand what the Great Commission is all about. This is the reason why we have a general apathy towards evangelism, unlike the early disciples.
More than ever before, Christians have more financial resources, more education, more economic power, and better technologically advanced tools, yet, we need to rediscover the meaning of Jesus’ mission on earth, the great commission, and find our place in it.
We may fulfill this divine mandate by going across cultures to different people groups or nations for the purpose of turning them to become disciples of Christ.
The present economy-induced migration offers a great opportunity to leverage this ‘scattering’ to take the gospel to the ends of the earth and reclaim cities for Christ if only we are conscious of our identity and call.
Every true Christian is Sent to win souls. Soul-winning is not an option for a child of God. It is not a spiritual gift. It is more than a church growth program. It is a clear, unequivocal, unavoidable command of Jesus Christ.
We all have cross-cultural boundaries around us today. In the present world where there is so much movement or migration of people from one place to another, Christians have the opportunity to do cross-cultural evangelism right in urban centers.
It is therefore not out of place to go a step further to build a relationship with people just for the sake of reaching them with the gospel of Christ.
It is an exciting thing to know that even where we cannot go in person, our prayers and our resources can go and help push the frontiers of the kingdom of our God into far corners of the earth. The reward is eternal!
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that winneth souls is wise. (Proverbs 11:30)
God has an agenda and a global plan. You have a role to play in it. Are you committed to playing your part?
You are sent!
LET US PRAY:
Father, we ask for the souls of the lost and unreached, knowing that it is Your will that no one perishes, but everyone comes to repentance.
LORD, reveal Yourself to all who have not embraced the gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ, to all who are distracted by the cares of this world
We pray that the hearts of the unreached will be fertile and open to receive the Word of life that is able to save their souls; that the grace of God that has appeared to all men will be revealed to the lost in urban centers.
We pray for a great outflow from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light.
Father, we pray that the members of the Body of Christ, ordained before the foundations of the world, who are yet to embrace Him, will come to a saving knowledge of Christ, that the Body may be complete
Lord, we pray that the scales put in place by the enemy to blind the eyes of our brothers & sisters be removed and that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ may shine into their hearts.
We rebuke the hand of the enemy over the unsaved and lost; we rebuke depression, mental dysfunction, and suicide; we lose the unsaved from everything that has tied them down.
LORD, let my life be the encounter with Jesus that the unbeliever needs. Help me to be gracious, and compassionate like Jesus.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen
It’s time to arise and do the work of an evangelist.
