One of the precious promises of the Lord for His own is the restoration of true righteousness. It will be as the garment that was placed upon Joshua (Zechariah 3-pls read).
This righteousness is not the feeble and fickle effort of men to live according to the commands of God, NO.
It is the righteousness that was earned by Christ’s total fulfillment of the demands of the law but mercifully transferred to us through His death and resurrection.
It is a supernatural de-robing of the nature of sin and a replacement with the royal righteousness of our Lord, Christ Jesus.
One of the benefits of this righteousness and an important effect it has on the believer is the peace it confers upon his once-troubled heart.
Isaiah puts it this way, “And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness (shall be) rest and security forever (Isaiah 32:17). Some other translations uses the words “Quietness and Confidence”.
Is your heart still bedeviled with worry?
Are you a believer and yet troubled?
Then go back and look deeply into the perfect law of liberty in Jesus till your confidence is restored. In Christ, you are guaranteed, safe, surrounded, and secure!
Don’t allow the enemy to rob you of your inheritance. Do all you can to appropriate what is yours in Jesus.
Go for bible study, buy books, read your bible, and prayerfully gain back your peace and confidence in Jesus!
Do this and take your steps forward into your year of purpose!
LET US PRAY:
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank you for paying the price for my restoration. I exchange my filthy self-righteousness for your glorious righteousness.
Let the peace you give keep my heart always.
May I live in safety, quietness, confidence, and assurance all the days of my life.
Amen.
