Only One Thing – Full Focus On Purpose
40 But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”
41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details!
42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

It’s been a big 10 days of word and prayer retreat. We have encountered God like never before, yes because this retreat was not about fixing things, it was about knowing God and His purpose for our lives.
Many times we seek God for what He can do for us, things we want to get from Him, and naughty problems that need solutions. As much as He is willing, able, and ever-ready to give us, His desire for us is to become like Him.
So, as you journey into 2023, it’s time to journey into purpose. Enough of running from pillar to post, trying many self-help motivation methods and goal-setting techniques. It is time to fully focus on God and set Him as the priority.
As we see in the story of Martha and Mary, Jesus prioritized fellowship, not activity. Getting intimate with Christ is the only thing worth being concerned about. This is the purpose, the place of His presence. The place of encounter is the place of transformation. And If you have strayed away, simply repent and pray for restoration.
How focused are you on your purpose? Let your purpose rise above hustle, service, activity, and money. Your self-preference must not take precedence over God’s will.
When you are on your way to purpose, you must know your priority. Your main focus, your most important should always be God.
Kingdom doesn’t start with goal setting but by focusing on the destination. Begin with the end in mind, and the end destination is in God. All goals and focus must be God-centered, not self-centered. Lock yourself in God first and then wrap everything around that.
Remember, don’t define yourself by your possession and finance, your true success and worth are in how you fulfill your purpose.
Our mind must be totally on God and not our personal self-net worth. But you say, ” I need money, I need to eat, I need to pay bills, I need this and that… ”
Well, all the things you are concerned about will come and go but your life will be accessed based on purpose. Settle and Prioritise your purpose, then all the things will fall into place as you implement your God-given goals.
There are many things that look rosy and nice but only one thing is good and beneficial, to seek first the kingdom and His righteousness. It’s not all about you, it’s about Him.
LET US PRAY:
Read Luke 10:38-42, John 17:24-26, Psalm 26:8, Hebrews 11:13-16, Hebrews 12:22-24, Philippians 3:13, Isaiah 26:3, Psalm 27:4
Lord Jesus Christ, I want you to be my destination and main focus. Jesus, you are my destination. I choose your interest in my life. I choose your decision in life. I pray that my service, ministry, and activities will not interfere with my fellowship with God.
Father grant unto me that my heart will not be diverted to ministry, activities, money making above fellowship. Grant my heart to desire you above all.
Holy Spirit, help me to choose that which is most beneficial and best for my life and purpose. Help me to make spending time with you my priority. Help me to focus on my purpose. I want God to be my destination. As I make choices in life, help me to know where you are in all of them.
Father, I ask that I may seek you and dwell with you all the days of my life. Reconnect my heart with you Lord. Reconnect my heart to fellowship and worship. Father May seeing your face and presence forever be my greatest joy.
Father my heart and mind is steadfast in you. I set my heart on you not what I have in my bank account. I put my focus on you Lord!
Father, I will never relapse into carnality or my carnal life instead I will continue to work my purpose in Christ.
Lord, I do not trust in my personal success but I choose to put my trust in you. Because I put my trust in you I shall never end in frustration or mental trauma. Every suicidal thought is gone in Jesus’ Name.
Father, I declare I will never return to compromise and unrighteousness. I will not go back to Egypt and the life of sin. I will live in the life and power of the spirit. I’m not of the earth, I’m divine. I activate my spiritual gifts.
The 10 days may be over, but the journey to implementation is just starting. Enjoy the process as we all work together in prayer following the lead of the Holy Spirit.
