Your Kingdom Come
So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

In what we now call The Lord’s Prayer, Jesus taught his disciples different petitions to pray for, one of which had to do with The Kingdom. Hear him “And he said to them, When you pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth”. (Luke 11:2)
What did He mean by “Thy Kingdom come?”. Jesus desires that the world be suffused by the Authority of The Father, that the whole world will be One Nation of Believers, that His influence will increase and expand, and that His Power and Glory will be reflected all over the earth.
Isaiah through Prophecy declared Isaiah 11:9 “… for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea…”! Wow!
Imagine how it would be then. No wars, no evil, no sorrow! However when one looks at the world today, it seems a huge contrast to this Prophecy, yet we know that “…the scriptures cannot be broken” (John 10:35), so we know that it will be as He has promised.
What then is our role? Jesus urged us to pray “Thy Kingdom Come”! The heavenly influence will only be superimposed on earthly ways when people pray. Talking is good but it’s the Holy Spirit that can convince, convict or transform.
Beyond the talk, the Prayer of Faith is better, so let us as God’s People and Kingdom Citizens rise up to our responsibility to pray for His Knowledge to fill the earth.
Your “earth” refers to where you are! So as we all stand in faith and pray, then Heaven’s influence and Government, His Power and Authority will begin to seep in and affect our communities; sooner than we think, change will come to our Nation!
This is the “Civic Duty” of every Kingdom Citizen!
LET US PRAY:
In Jesus’ Name I pray, Lord let your kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is done in heaven. Let the whole earth be filled with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the sea. So shall it be in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
