Special Birthday Celebration
Worthy of Double Honour
Celebrating Dr. Funmi Johnson — May 25th
“The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honour, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.”
— 1 Timothy 5:17 (NIV)
God does not take faithful service for granted, and neither should we. Scripture is deliberate and uncompromising: those who lead well, preach, and teach are worthy of double honour. Not polite applause. Not occasional acknowledgement. Double honour.
Dr. Funmi Johnson has carried a weight that few see behind the scenes—pastor’s wife, preaching elder, mother, counsellor, CEO/Founder, mentor, and deep friend to many—all at once, and all with remarkable grace. She has consistently fed others from tables she rarely got to sit at. She has smiled through intense pressures that would have broken others, and she has continuously spoken life into homes, marriages, and hearts across this nation.
Today, on her birthday, we do not just celebrate a woman—we honour a calling faithfully carried. The worker deserves her wages, and she has earned far more than we can ever fully give.
✨ Express Your Gratitude Today:
Take a moment today to send her a personal word of appreciation. Tell her specifically how her life, ministry, or counsel has blessed you. Honour is not just something felt—it must be intentionally expressed.
