Here is the widow’s plight in the context of today;
Down to your last savings in an economic recession, insecurity is prevalent, anger, and frustration all around. The government of the day is irresponsible, corrupt, and clueless, with so much disunity and ethnic misgivings.
Some so-called Men of God are extorting members and turning blind eyes to injustice.
Poverty capital of the world. High unemployment, failed judicial system, and poor credit rating.
What! Does that look like a country you know right now?
Then a man of God shows up from only God-knows-where and asks you to give!
He is not even asking you to give to a cause or donate to charity, at least that will be on record for posterity to remember. But to give him for personal consumption!
“No way. He must be a self-serving, glory-seeking,
“No! I don’t get it, this is unfair and unkind to a widow. No husband, No jobs, An outcast so why her?” The human mind reasons.
“Go to the rich. Go to people that have means. That is the way it works”; people will say.
Alas the God we serve does not follow man-made protocol.
You might have been told that you are supposed to give out of what you have, what about giving all that you have?
Beloved, when God stands and makes a demand. Please trust and obey.
Look unto him! Even if with teary eyes, don’t look away, don’t take your gaze away from Him. Don’t listen to the voice of reason, just say Yes!
A time of personal crisis is the time to prove the Love of God, His Covenant Mercy, and His true Fatherhood.
God wants you to trust Him more than things, trust Him more than human reasoning, and people’s opinion. Trust Him as the source and creator of all.
Don’t put your trust in possessions, and don’t place all your hope on strategy, networking, skills, and hard work. Put all your trust in God to settle all matters.
The currency (money) of the kingdom is faith. Listen to God in the place of prayer and whatever He asks you to do, do quickly. Don’t argue!
LET US PRAY:
Dear Heavenly Father, Help me to be firm and unwavering in faith. Help me see beyond people’s opinions, human reasoning, and media comments.
Open my ears to hear you, open my heart to perceive you in every affair of my life. May your word be my light from now on and forevermore.
The voice of God will be clear to me and I will obey Him no matter the seeming contradictions. Grant me strength Lord to trust and obey you in all circumstances.
In Jesus’ Name, I declare that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in this land of the living. This land will yield an increase for me. Amen
