Sons and Daughters
Today’s Teaching
Of Sons and Daughters
“I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:18 (NKJV)
God does not simply save us, He claims us. In Christ, we become His sons and daughters, welcomed into a relationship marked by love, identity, and belonging. This is not poetic language. It is a covenant promise. God is not distant, indifferent, or abstract. He is a Father; intentional, present, protective, and deeply invested in His children.
Being God’s child means you are chosen, not accidental. You are loved, not tolerated. You are valued, not overlooked. You are claimed, not abandoned. Your identity is not built on your past, your performance, or your circumstances. It is built on God’s declaration: “You are Mine.”
To Live as God’s Children Means:
- Walking in intimacy — Children run to their Father, not from Him.
- Receiving His correction — His discipline is proof of His love, not His anger.
- Reflecting His character — Sons and daughters carry the family likeness.
- Resting in His provision — A good Father provides for His own.
- Standing in His authority — Children of the King walk in confidence, not fear.
You are not an orphan trying to survive. You are a child of the Almighty God, invited to live from a place of security, identity, and inheritance.
God wants you to quit living like a servant and transition to that place where you live intentionally as His child. Stop striving for what God has already given freely—love, acceptance, belonging. Let the Father’s voice be louder than your doubts: “You are My child.”
Daily Prayer
“Father, thank you for calling me your child. Thank you for choosing me, loving me, and welcoming me into your family. Help me to live each day with the confidence of a son, the tenderness of a daughter, and the trust of one who knows their Father is good. Heal every place in me that still feels orphaned or afraid. Teach me to walk in your love, reflect your character, and rest in your presence. I belong to you, and I receive that truth today. Amen.”
